WSD: A Talk with Jack Daniels
Wilson Daniels, a sales and marketing company founded in 1978 that represents wines from California, Oregon, France, Italy, Hungary, New Zealand and Australia, is doing something a little bit different. They have re-launched a line of namesake varietal wines from the Central Coast with one of the founders, Jack Daniels, leading the charge. Although the Wilson Daniels label was available in pockets from the late 1970s to the mid-1990s, they eventually discontinued it because it was competing with the company's winery clients. The new Wilson Daniels Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Sauvignon Blanc fall in the $10-$15 price category and are so far available in California, Wisconsin, Illinois, New York, New Jersey and Florida. So WSD caught up with Jack to learn more about this new venture, and also get his take on the wine industry as whole. Here's what he had to say as you, dear reader, are a fly on the wall:
