Wine & Spirits Have Big July 4th

Both wine and spirits took a chunk out of beer's biggest sales holiday, Fourth of July, this year according to Symphony IRI food, drug, convenience and mass merchandise scan data for the three weeks ending July 10. Dollar sales for wine increased 7% during the period, while spirits gained 7.6%. Meanwhile, the total beer category grew dollar sales by 3.7%, with the lion share of growth coming from crafts, up 17.8%.
