Wine Imports Expected to Make Meaningful Headway in US Market
With the increasing popularity of imports, foreign bottled wine now accounts for 35% of the US market, according to Silicon Valley Bank's State of the Industry report. In 2016 Italy and Australia were the top importers by volume, though New Zealand sauvignon blanc, and French rose, are consistently gaining in popularity. In fact, SVB's Rob McMillan believes "bottled imported wine will start to take market share from domestic producers again," writes SVB's Rob McMillan.
