2014 may have started off slow for the spirits category, but wholesalers seem to believe things are picking up. 56% of US wholesalers are "much more optimistic" or "somewhat more optimistic" on the outlook of the category compared to three months ago, according to UBS's quarterly wholesaler survey. The September survey is the first time more than half of wholesalers felt optimistic about the immediate future in a year. In fact, it's the most optimistic wholesalers have been since September 2012.
