Truett-Hurst takes 50% Stake in Colby Red

During its first quarter earnings results today, Truett-Hurst (T-H) mentioned that it has taken a 50% stake in Australian winemaker Daryl Groom's Colby Red wine brand. You may recall Daryl launched Colby Red in 2011 as a partnership with Treasury Wine Estates. It was carried initially by Walgreens for a suggested retail price of $13. That year it was one of IRI's top 30 momentum table wine brands in food and drug stores. More recently P.F. Chang's director of beverage, Mary Melton, told WSD Colby Red had taken off in the chain.
