The Merits of Yellow Tail’s Super Bowl Foray
Deutsch Family's Yellow Tail wine made big news last month when the company announced it would spend millions to be the first wine brand to advertise during the Super Bowl since Bartles & Jaymes in 1988. But since Anheuser-Busch Inbev had the exclusive alcohol category ad rights, they bought local ad placement in 70 major markets instead, according to a preview article in AdAge. Deutsch did not reveal the total amount paid, but did reveal they spent more than the estimated cost of buying a 30-second national ad during the Super Bowl ($5 million).
