You may recall, the Alcohol Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) has proposed new rules on wine labeling that could fundamentally change the laws regarding AVAs [see WSD 06-28-2016]. Following its proposed rulemaking to prevent out-of-state wine companies from putting California regions on their labels, the agency has extended the comment period on the proposed rules to December 7.
