Tennessee Spirits Co Enters the Scene

With the whiskey category growing like it is (dollar sales grew 6.7% in the 52-weeks ending April 28 led by bourbon and Irish, per Nielsen), it's not surprising that many are making a play for the business. Here enters Capital Brands LLC. Formed by a group of people with a long history in the spirits business, their first division is Tennessee Spirits Company. With master distiller Dave Scheurich at the helm - who worked as general manager at Woodford Reserve - their three products include: Jailers Tennessee Whiskey (86 proof at $25), Breakout 8-Year-Old American Rye Whiskey (86 proof at $45) and Forbidden Secret American Cream Liqueur (blended with Jailers, dark chocolate and espresso, and priced at $25).
