The major consolidation moves in the distribution tier -- i.e. Southern Wine & Spirits and Glazer's, and Charmer Sunbelt Group and Wirtz Beverage -- is easily one of the biggest beverage alcohol stories of 2016. The effects on the distribution tier probably won't be clear until we get some distance away from the announcements, but there have already been some route to market changes (or renewals) from a few of the category's biggest suppliers.
