Starbucks Pulls Plug on Evenings Concept, Makes Plans for Spirits
Following the news that ceo Howard Schultz will take his leave in April, Starbucks has done an about face on its Evenings concept. The retailer will pull the program from more than 430 company-operated stores by January 10, reports Seattle Times. Recall, the Evenings concept included the sale of wine, beer and small plates, and was expected to be rolled out to as many as one-fourth of the company's 11,000 US stores [see WSD 01-17-2013].
