Last year the spirits industry grew total volumes by 3.5% in the U.S. across on- and off-premise accounts, based on findings from research and consulting firm Technomic. It was just shy of 209 million cases. You probably won't be surprised to hear that the top 250 brands drove the bulk of volume growth (88%) and retail sales growth (89%). Together they grew volumes by 3.1%, which is four percentage points shy of total category growth. So which brands were responsible for driving the rest of the volume growth in 2011?
