Spirits Council Shifts Efforts from Oregon to Colorado
Yesterday, the Oregonians for Competition, a coalition of privatization supporters backed by grocers and the Distilled Spirits Council (which is moving away from the DISCUS name), suspended efforts to put privatization Initiative 71 on the November ballot. Instead, the grocery lobby is shifting focus to defeat a corporate income tax initiative called Initiative 28, and the Council has decided to shift its focus from Oregon to Colorado.
