You may recall Japanese company Suntory Ltd. was in a few major headlines in 2012. In December it was reported that the company was interested in acquiring Beam, potentially in partnership with Diageo. Suntory has not officially commented, but the rumors seem to be supported by the company's decision to put its food and non-alcoholic beverage unit up for IPO to raise money. All signs point to more Suntory visibility in the US. WSD recently spoke with Suntory's US brand ambassador for Japanese whisky, Neyah White on the company's US strategy moving forward.
