Second Quarter Proves Challenging for Wine & Spirits
It seems that June was a sluggish month for the wine and spirits categories, both on and off-premise. In control states volumes were down 6.4% and shelf dollars were down 3.4%. According to NABCA, June sales were soft because June 2013 had five Sundays compared to four last year. Overall, there were 17 fewer selling days in control states this June.
