Scotch Could Learn a Thing or Two from Wine
Scotch whisky has a fairly predictable production cycle generally lasting between six and seven years, during which it experiences periods of both excess supply and tight inventories (see chart below). The wine category also has similar challenges in predicting how much to produce now for future demand. As such, the Scotch category could stand to learn a few things from how the wine category manages its production cycles, according to a new report from Rabobank.
