Retail bankruptcy filings are setting a record pace so far in 2017. We regret to report a total of 8,600 brick-and-mortar stores are expected to close this year, nearly 2,500 more than the worst year on record (2008), according to a presentation from Danny Brager, Nielsen's svp of Bev Alc Practice, at the recent NABCA conference.
