Maker’s Mark Executives Explain Decision to Reduce Alcohol Content

In order to keep up with the demand for Maker's Mark bourbon, the company is reducing the alcohol content from 90 proof (abv 45) to 84 proof (abv 42). The news broke over the weekend when coo Rob Samuels and his father Bill Samuels Jr., former ceo and now ambassador-at-large, wrote a letter to consumer brand ambassadors around the country notifying them of the change.
