MA Shipping Bill Stuck in Committee; Plaintiffs Seek Attorneys Fees
House Bill 4497 is still stuck in the Massachusetts House Ways & Means Committee and has until next week to pass, according to Free the Grapes. Based on the model direct shipping bill, it would require wineries to purchase a shipping license, to mark boxes as requiring signature at delivery, and to limit the quantity of wine shipped to individuals. But it also goes a step further. HB 4497 would remove the current capacity cap (set at 30,000 gallons) and resolves a licensing issue.
