Judge Rules Against KY Law Forbidding Wine and Spirits in Grocery Stores
US District Court Judge John Heyburn issued an order yesterday declaring a long-standing law in Kentucky, which forbids certain groceries and gas stations from selling wine and spirits, unconstitutional under the Equal Protections Clause. Under the law, drugstores can sell wine and spirits, but grocery stores and gas stations cannot.
