Is Maine Backing Away from its Partial Privatization Contract?

The director of the Maine Bureau of Alcoholic Beverage and Lottery Operations Gerry Reid has suggested that the state should end a contract that gave private company Maine Beverage exclusive rights to import and distribute spirits in the state. Gerry said by ending the contract the state could gain over $40 million and Maine residents would pay less for spirits, reports Maine Sun Journal.
