In our view, the modern resurgence of craft distillers has had three identifiable phases so far. The first wave was the early adopters that set up shop pre-2010. We think of this group as the romantics. They are often founders who had to cobble together the money for their first distillery--usually sans tasting room--and if they've survived this long, typically have nationwide recognition. Many of them are considering their exit plans.
