Its not just Four Loko and other pre-mixed caf alcs that have come under fire. Mixed drinks with caffeine and caffeinated spirits have attracted attention from an Iowa senator. Iowa state Sen. Brian Schoenjahn has proposed a bill that would make it a misdemeanor for any business with a liquor license to "manufacture for sale, sell, offer or keep for sale, import, distribute, transport, or possess any caffeinated alcoholic beverages." Penalties include license suspension or revocation; jail time up to 30 days and/or a fine as high as $625.
