Could Multimillion Laboure-Roi Scandal Damage Burgundy Wine Reputation?

Following an 18-month investigation, police say Burgundy negociant house Laboure-Roi topped off thousands of bottles of Nuits St George with supermarket wines between 2005 and 2009. Laboure-Roi, the Burgundy region's third biggest wine company, exports to 30 countries worldwide, including Britain and the US. 2 million bottles of Nuits St George were sold from 2005 to 2009, reported Daily Mail. "The scale of the Laboure-Roi scam is likely to inflict far greater damage to the worldwide reputation of Burgundy wine," the paper said.
