Despite urging from the nation's alcohol wholesalers, the first states to legalize recreational marijuana (see: Colorado, Washington, Oregon, Alaska) chose not to implement a three tier-style distribution model. But California, sitting on a $2.7 billion marijuana industry, is set to be the first state to introduce distributors into the mix and possibly "redefine the nature of the marijuana industry," writes Politico.
