BUSH ADMINISTRATION TO FORM NEW ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION POLICY
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security says it plans to develop a new program to stop employers from hiring illegal immigrants by March 24. The agency issued a legal brief last week in response to U.S. District Judge Charles Breyerâ€™s decision to indefinitely delay the Buch administrationâ€™s first immigration policy. As youâ€™ll recall, the Bush administrationâ€™s initial plan was to force employers to fire suspected illegal immigrants or face a $10,000 fine. Vineyards and restaurants adamantly opposed the plan.
