Bar Operators Talk Pay to Play
We haven't reported on it much, but our colleagues on the beer side of the business have been covering an ongoing story in Boston in which the Massachusetts Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission charged Craft Brewers Guild, a distributorship owned by the Sheehan Family Co., for a pay-to-play operation. The Sheehans opted to pay a multi-million dollar fine to avoid an unprecedented 90-day license suspension after an investigation revealed the distributor spent $120,000 in kickbacks for kegs and dedicated draft lines.
