Anchor Distilling on Building its Artisan Empire

The consumer demand for artisanal, craft spirits is rising like a souffle, slow and steady. And San Francisco-based Anchor Distilling has spent the past five years strategically positioning itself to welcome the growing consumer base into its eclectic portfolio of high-end, quality spirits. Technically, it wasn't Anchor Distilling back in 2008. But the soul of Anchor Distilling began when former Skyy Vodka executives Tony Foglio and Keith Greggor acquired the craft portfolio of Preiss Imports. Shortly thereafter they formed a strategic partnership with British wine and spirits merchant Berry Bros. & Rudd. The final piece of the company that would be called Anchor Distilling was the acquisition of Anchor Brewing in 2010.
