Alit Wine Lays Bare its Costs (for Better or for Worse)
Alit, a new Oregon wine brand founded by former film producer Mark Tarlov--who also owns Chapter 24 in Willamette Valley--has raised the bar on transparency for the wine industry. In November the company debuted a business plan that includes ditching the three tier system and providing consumers with an itemized breakdown of the costs that go into making a bottle and how they arrived at its price.
