Today's feature distillery, Kentucky Artisan Distillery, arguably does not fit the common definition for craft. It was founded in 2011 by Chris Miller, Michael Loring, and Stephen Thompson with the intent to be a testing ground for people who wanted to get into the business. But in the last couple of years, the company has found success in distilling and warehousing product for other brands, as well as growing its own unique brand Whiskey Row. You may recall, earlier this summer, Castle Brands took a 20% stake in the company in order to develop a home for its popular Jefferson's bourbons.
