In light of improving macro conditions in the US market, the race to the high-end of the wine category was going strong during the first quarter of 2015. Wines priced above $9 -- which roughly represents about one-fourth of wine sold off-premise -- gained nearly 3 full dollar share points in all Nielsen-measured channels for the 13 weeks to March 28.
