24 AGs Want Stricter Alcohol Advertising
Once again, a number of attorneys general are setting their sights on the alcohol industry, and not surprisingly they are following the lead of public health activists. Twenty-four AGs are asking the FTC to recommend stricter alcohol advertising guidelines that more closely mimic the tobacco industry. A letter written by Utah attorney general Mark Shurtleff stated: "We are concerned about the large number of underage drinkers in our states and the role that the industry's advertising and marketing practices play in promoting underage consumption."
